The partnership between IOHK and the Ethiopian government will see a blockchain-based identity solution rolled out to schools nationwide.

I really hope that the system will successful, I have a feeling more countries will want to implement it, piling up all the bullish developments on what could be an amazing year for Cardano. I just hope that this thing works out and we get rid of the current authoritarian currency dominance that has ruined millions of lives. What do you believe?? [@Druss](/user/profile/Druss)

I was aware that Africa was a key target for Cardano and Charles Hoskins has often spoke of how his technology could help out there. Africa could really leap in the future by adopting decentralized networks; just like they skipped past the cable into the mobile era. It's certainly a "Foot in the door" in a country with great potential, but also a lot of issues. I hope it works out.

You can say what you want about Charles and Cardano, but the man has a vision and he goes for it. I respect that. Loads of potential for this coin. I love that they specifically target countries who would benefit the most from such initiatives. I bless the gains down in Africa.

I honestly don't care which project is better than another and I'm upvoting all good news related to crypto. I just hope that this thing works out and we get rid of the current authoritarian currency dominance that has ruined millions of lives. Well, the way I see it, Cardano is actually sinking its claws deep into the roots of a country's financial ecosystem by becoming an identity provider. In this article, we're mainly focusing on education and keeping an individual's track record but this will surely evolve to also include credit history as well as loads of important data required to provide loans, insurances, and other financial services that most African countries can't actually benefit from right now. If you look back at IOHK presentations from 5 years ago, this is exactly the problem they have been trying to solve and everything is coming together as we speak! Congrats to IOHK
