The coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has sickened more than 16.5 million people across six continents. It is raging in countries that never contained the virus. It is resurging in many of the ones that did. If there was ever a time when this coronavirus could be contained, it has probably passed. One outcome is now looking almost certain: This virus is never going away.

I hope for treatments, accurate testing. We have treatments for HIV to reduce viral load to undetectable levels. Took a long time to get that. Not sure how it could work w/ Covid, particularly in light of the silent hypoxia issue. Many are near death before ever showing symptoms.

The article has a pretty positive outlook. It will be with us, but likely become the fifth strain of coronavirus that causes the common cold. I’m hoping we see a weaker version that is more inconvenience than pandemic. I’m going to try and be positive about this

Yep...some people just do not give a dam. Then it makes it worst for everyone that does care.

People don't understand. This is just one virus. Imagine if we had to fight two at the same time.

This should not cause fear or panic, there was a time Typhoid was a death sentence, today it is treatable at any hospital. Corona might stay but we surely going to get a cure. Please don't live in fear.

It is never going away. We have to be immune from it and learn to live with it.

The concept of viruses never going has to do with the amount of effort put into curtailing it at the initial stages. Once it becomes a pandemic, there is little or nothing to be done.
