It is a rare day that I am reading MTV, but something about this caught my eye. Welsh artist "twst" describes their sound as: "Metamodern, aspirational, trigger." I think that their music video featured in the piece ("Are You Filming Me") speaks to the metamodern juxtaposition of recorder and recorded in a world where millions, if not billions, are both the filmed and the filming via Zoom or a dozen other meeting platforms. We are on stage and watching TV at one and the same time just in the course of daily living in 2020. Maybe the post to postmodernism has arrived.
