Cost is not the determining factor of price unless the seller is not making a profit. It’s so infuriating that companies like Kroger have somehow convinced people that price increases are due to increases in their costs (like higher wages) even as their net profits skyrocket. Businesses don’t charge more because they have to, they charge more because they can.
