Nothing makes fighting to the death seem like a good idea more than the eventual rape, torture and death to follow and still likely death. The Russian soldiers likely have less motivation. If it is an instrument of war, it is a bad one.

Horrible, but expected. Rape has always been 'an instrument of war', from the inception of war. It is used today by Russian troops in Ukraine, Ethiopian forces in Tigray and vice versa, American troops in its so-called War on Terror, UN peacekeeping forces wherever they have been deployed, etc.

When there is war as [@MC_ANGELOz](/user/profile/MC_ANGELOz) said there are no limits to the means of terror used by the two forces inorder to subdue one another but the use of rape as a means of warfare( brings about psychological trauma on the individuals/victims involved) is very catastrophic because it now opens up room to many unwanted situations like STDs,viruses,psycholigical trauma/depression and unwanted pregnancy, and this is a breach to the international human rights and the one population that are unarmed towards the war between the russian soldiers and Ukrainian soldiers.

In as much as "there is no limits when 2 groups fight to the death" and anything can happen in war, I agree with Charu Lata Hogg that the act is a breach of international human rights laws. On that note, this "instrument of war" used by some Russian soldiers (emphasis on some) on Ukrainians brings to exposure their essence as human beings, soldiers or not.....My thoughts tho 🤷‍♂️.
