This at first glance seems abhorrent and against the norm of these platforms where they normally take action against calls to violence. There is of course lots of nuance. Firstly despite their global reach these are essentially US/western platforms and this behaviour is in keeping with that. Secondly the countries where they are permitting this are ones where with large populations that are directly affected by Russia's war efforts. It is natural to expect large parts of their population to want the Russian invasion to fail...and hence the rallying calls for deaths. Lastly I should imagine russian cw groups have been also using the rules prior to this to game Facebook/meta in to taking down some anti-russian content because it meets a certain metric for advocating violence, and this will negate that. Fwiw I don't like any calls to violence, but then again I'm not in a country bordering Russia that it might turn it's eye on next. The overton window shifts again hey!
