Looks like some well know investigative groups such as Bellingcat have received funding from the US government via NED (National Endowment for Democracy). Does this alter their reputation as impartial reporters? Should we be considering this funding when we read their articles? Maybe we should. "NED money has gone to UK investigative groups Bellingcat, Finance Uncovered and openDemocracy, as well as media freedom and training organisations Index on Censorship, Article 19, the Media Legal Defence Initiative, and the Thomson Reuters Foundation."
