As more and more people train to become HGV Drivers to take advantage of the signing on bonuses and wages then the pool of available people who are able to do the job will increase. This in turn means that businesses are able to lower wages as there is an increase in competition for those jobs. I saw my own profession go from paying £25 - 30 p/h to £10 - 15p/h in under a decade because the amount of people who jumped profession to take advantage of the pay meant that the demand for outstripped the availability.
