I agree that the Economist is showing its real agenda here - "NEOLIBERALISM IS FAILING! HELP! WE MUST SAVE IT!" but to take a simple linear course through history - "the working class is responsible for everything good that has ever happened" - is just not good enough. We have to accept that many aspects of working class culture have been (and even still are) racist, sexist, ageist, supportive of envronmental destruction if it puts more money into their pockets in the short term and generally counter productive.
