Australia is a country with very strict and enduring lockdowns and they have persistently infringed on civil liberties to contain the virus with this approach. I appreciate this is likely due to their leaders botched vaccine procurement and rollout, but it's starting to look really Orwellian now as shown in the quote below! Have we any Australians on here who can let us know the reality out there? "People in South Australia will be forced to download an app that combines facial recognition and geolocation. The state will text them at random times, and thereafter they will have 15 minutes to take a picture of their face in the location where they are supposed to be. Update: looks like this is just a trial of 50 people returning from interstate travel doing quarantine in their own home. It seems less concerning in that context but still something to keep an a watch on.
