It seems like a total red herring for govt, and media, to spend their time and energy overly villainizing petty criminals who are just trying to survive. The real problem with tax loss is not crypto, but rather the global financial institutions that are constantly seeking rents from people world wide, evading taxes formally and w govt consent, and making outlandish bets with the guarantee the govt will bail them out if, and when, those bets fail.
