My take is that they should absolutely NOT let this trial die with an acquittal in under a week. From a purely political perspective and in order to guarantee the closest they can get to an actual trial. Dems have the ability to write the rules here, literally. Take advantage of it for gods sake.

Trump's lawyers say he's blameless because he used the word “peacefully” in his speech inciting the Capitol attack. Of course Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini used the word “peace” in their speeches too.
