I think there was some commentary on the report by Philip Alston over the summer. I think there is real critique here in terms of what constitutes a target and accordingly how "success" is gauged. Hitting a target that is irrelevant or ill-defined is no measure of victory.

Well written and clear read on the giant global poverty issue - "The World Bank poverty line is not simply arbitrary, miscalculated, or too low—it has been artificially maintained that way." / "The proportion of the world population living in poverty is not 10 percent but closer to 50 percent. This may still underestimate the problem."
