Those arrested on Wednesday night have been identified as Grade I police constables Vail Muthu, Chelladaurai, and Thomas, Head Constable Samadurai and special sub inspector Paldurai. Inspector General of Police (IG) for CB-CID K Shankar said that they had been arrested on charges of abetment. They are accused of holding down Jeyaraj and Beniks while they were beaten by a sub-inspector.
