Could the team at Relevant look at ways to quickly block the idiots who try to promote their affiliate links for websites like Amazon? The platform is great but unfortunately the 'spammers' never get tired of being losers!

I'm sure Relevant will find solutions to these issues as they arise. The downvote is a great way of combating spam in the long-run. If these affiliate links get voted down quickly (as they do) there will be no return in investment of time spent trying to promote bad links which ultimately means they won't bother doing it anymore.

Well said. It wasn’t so bad yesterday.

So there is a vested interest in the community downvoting spam. That is if you want a better reward for upvoting relevant content there is an incentive to downvote garbage. Some members such as myself are fairly active in downvoting, but there is also a flag inappropriate content option on each post (the 3 dots). Flag them and downvote them and they will get cleared. FWIW until this week this was only minimally an issue.

Could there potentially be an issue with people also downvoting posts that are not spam in the belief that incentives may be higher?

This is a good point, though the rep system is distinct from the rewards, so someone acting as a bad actor will ultimately water down their own impact.

After hitting a reputation of 70 , 33% provided by you itself in last one hour all my comments that were earlier upvoted 10-12 times are now downvoted 20 times. How do you tackle such scenarios? People can downvote other so that their votes have a higher share.

I feel some members are acting in a very bad faith

There is no gain in bringing down people of good reputation, you only prepare your own fall in doing so.

Actually there is no moderation for bad actors, they can easily downvote new members with higher reputation so that a limited individuals have a higher reputation. A higher reputation would mean higher voting power and hence higher share in rewards.

Maybe [@slava](/user/profile/slava) should ensure they get blocked as soon as they post a referral link.
