Clearly mindfulness is not going to cure the ills of society that are drivers of alot of mental health issues. However it can be helpful in those who are prone to excessive and obsessive ruminations that cause activation of flight or fight systems. I was very skeptical of it at first but now practice it a few times a week and find it does help my overall mental health

I'm with you on this. The article has a very synical tone, yet some very interesting perspectives/points. I'd argue that meditation is a good practice regardless the potential negative socioeconomics or overly woke attitude people can have towards meditation. If you're better of with then that's a good thing that can have a ripple effect, even if it's just your family or neighbor that notices it.

Yes it is very cynical but it does certainly have some valid points. Mindfulness isn't a panacea for stress and you're right in that its just another form of meditation that is probably good for some people and less so for others.
