It all comes down to what we are beholden to. Identity is the ultimate shackle. Once we identify in any way we are locked into that idea and our whole lives become an action of keeping the idea fixed in place. It's ultimately the root of most wars and violence on all levels. Once I have fixed anything I will cling to it, and defend it, and die for it. It's a hollow illusion. This is the fundamental truth of the world that we can discover once we begin to truly question the fabric of everything. We cannot rest on our beliefs. They are not serving us. Especially the beliefs we hold about ourselves.
