That last bit of the article makes it pretty clear that she knows she got played but... suck cost fallacy, I guess? She threw everything away from this guy, she can't really afford to give up now. He's super stupid for not keeping it going. She (their "relationship") might he the only about him that comes across as human or sympathetic. That might have helped him re: parole. But whatever, you do you, Martin.
