# **Some Relevant Facts About Relevant**
In recent weeks, there has been an increase in curiosity in and interest about the Relevant Community. Last year I put together a good introduction to participating in the Community and using app [1], but recently there have been more questions about the project from a financial and developmental standpoint. This summary attempts to address most of those questions with clear links to relevant information about Relevant.
Before we proceed further, three very important caveats/disclosures:
First, I am not on the Team. I have been involved as an active Member and Admin now for a couple of years, but did not build the software and I am generally not privy to the day-to-day software development or financial changes with the project.
Second, I have a significant interest in the success and value of Relevant as I hold quite a few REL.
Finally, while I have made a good-faith attempt to communicate my understanding of the situation, it is only current as of the date of publication and draws on publically-available information (usually linked). I cannot guarantee that this information is perfectly accurate at this time or will always remain accurate in the future. You will still need to do your own due diligence, though I am hopeful that some of the links and information will significantly aid you in that process.
## **Relevant is a well-supported project.**
Relevant has been backed by Coinbase Ventures [2] and CoinFund [18] and has received grants from the Interchain Foundation [3, 4].
## **Relevant is constantly in active development.**
More codes is being created every week [5] and Relevant is probably best characterized as being in “Beta Phase 2” [6] with a goal of building a path towards decentralized self-governing communities that have interoperable connections with the Cosmos blockchain [4]. Beyond just the current curation base, Relevant will also be exploring other community options that will allow for private and/or subscription communities [7].
## **Relevant is being built by a known team.**
The core principals of the Relevant team are known [8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20] and their advisors are significant [21, 22]. These are not some fly-by-night anonymous devs from who-knows-where.
## **The REL token is slowly being released into circulation.**
While there appears to be about 27 million REL [13] there are only about 1.1 million REL really in circulation at the time of this writing [14] because most is only being slowly released over time [15] with most curation rewards and early holders to be a part of a vesting contract [16]. The previous “airdrop” REL were never claimable and were really only to get the system up and running, so they will not be released into circulation, though rewards gained from staking them have and will.
## **The team is communicative.**
The team is fairly good about being in contact, but prefers Slack, Twitter, the Relevant Support Community, and the Relevant Blog [17] to the likes of Telegram.
