In 1926, in the era of the totalitarian system, when everything national was recognized as insignificant, and all references to the traditional heritage were considered anachronisms and remnants of antiquity, Nauryz Meiramy was canceled and resumed only in 1988. Since 2001, Nauryz has been declared a state holiday in Kazakhstan, and since 2009 it has been celebrated for 3 consecutive days, starting from March 21. These three days are declared non-working in Kazakhstan.
"Nauryz" means "the birth of spring", respectively, Nauryz meiramy-the holiday of spring renewal, the beginning of the new year, which coincides with the day of the spring equinox, it is a celebration of the triumph of love, fertility and friendship. Nauryz meiramy originated among the peoples of the East long before the adoption of Islam, so it is devoid of religious rites and orientation, it is an important and ancient festival of the Eastern peoples.
