Two questions/requests here please: 1. What is the minimum number of upvote a post must have for it to be qualified for payment? 2. Can anyone please respond with a direct link to Relevant White Paper? I must say that I have been searching for the white paper without success for a while now. I want to believe that I've been doing it wrongly, and I just have to read that document! Firstly, there is no minimum number of upvote a post must have for it to be qualified for payment. People basically upvote a post and place a bet on it if they feel it will be relevant at the long run. You only earn from a Post by upvoting and placing bet on it. You need to enable your betting mode if you haven't. Visit the wallet section and click the enable betting. To earn, you click the upvote and wait a bit, the betting will pop up, you then place your bet. You may choose to adjust the number of tokens you want to place for betting. The higher token you place , the more token you are likely to earn. As for the document, I will get it for soon. Let me get the link for you ASAP.

Thank you for the reply and I am eagerly awaiting the document. I want to believe that you missed my point in the first question however. I have been placing bets on upvotes of relevant contents and I have made a tiny bit by doing so. But my question is around the fact that, some of the posts I have upvoted and bet on, which had more than zero upvotes did not yield any additional token after 3days. Now I read somewhere here today; someone wrote 'if the post you upvoted qualifies for payment'. Then my thinking is, if a post was upvoted by 500people and the payment was distributed to those based on other parameters though, one would expect that if it is only 10people that upvoted it, distribution should be made to those ten accordingly - but then it obviously doesn't work like that. So I reason, there is probably a minimum number of upvotes a post must have in order to be qualified, or some other criteria to be met.

[@SumeeUsman](/user/profile/SumeeUsman) I saw your response on a post stating that you read the white paper. I am unable to comment on that post, that is why I am calling you out here - please help me supply the link to that white paper. I seriously do want to read it too.

I think I finally found what I've been looking for, got it in one of [@DrEllisJaruzel](/user/profile/DrEllisJaruzel) 's response. And here it is [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Tp2HG-jJrN2xO07s3V8O_Pfyk4zPMG3E/view](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Tp2HG-jJrN2xO07s3V8O_Pfyk4zPMG3E/view)

I Just realised I sent you the wrong file... Just realized that now. [@joefun90](/user/profile/joefun90) So sorry about that. Yeah, that's same file I read.

1. No minimum number of VOTES. In theory, 1 Up Vote from a 99 REP member might be enough (in practice more like 3-5 minimum). In practice there have certainly been posts with over 1,000 Up Votes that did not payout (lots of 0 REP Sybils or Bots). 2. It looks like you found the White Paper, but be aware that the mechanism is actually a cool bonding curve formula. See Below For More Info. General Vote/Payout Info Number of votes is NOT the same as rating (hover over the vote count on desktop to see the score). A post could have 1,000 0 REP members up vote it and it still be very low scoring or 5 99 REP members up vote it and be very high scoring. All votes are not equal. Beyond that, timing, amount bet, and bet location matter. Earlier bets, larger bets, larger proportions of bets, and communities with more bets matter. Even beyond all of that, if a post is not above the 50th percentile on relevance (no matter how many up votes or how much staked on it), the payout will ALWAYS be 0. All of this information is already available on the platform, though I do not know if it is all directly spelled out in the same place. In the white paper you can get the rough idea and several of the blog posts spell out the mathematics and mechanics in more detail. The amount of shares you get for each bet is determined by this formula: yourShares = 1/2 * (currentBets + yourBet) ^2 - currentShares So to get the 1st share you would need to stake .5 tokens. 2nd share would be more 'expensive' and require 1.5, 3rd share would require 2.5, and so on. The payout is split among all share holders of the post based on how many shares they hold. Each additional person to stake will both dilute the rewards pool and add to it, though the later they are in staking the more ‘expensive’ a share, so the more they will have to pay for a comparable stake. They may also make the pool much more likely to pay out depending on their REP. Choose wisely how you deploy your bets as you will need to bet on good, relevant, content in order for the payout to happen, but by the time you can be certain of a payout, the potential reward will be really small or considerably more expensive

Oh thank you for the deep explanation. Like you mentioned, details and explanations are not in one bulky place but scattered across the platform - I'm trying the best I can to seek them all out. I will read the white paper over and over; coupled with your explanation, I do hope I can come to the understanding of that 'truth' which you advised that anyone who finds it should keep to himself - in one of your response to someone somewhere on the platform.
