The WHO once stated that playing video games can negatively impact your mental health. However, I believe now more than ever, gaming online can really help with your state of mind, which has been altered by not socializing face-to-face.

[@keaton](/user/profile/keaton) [@taylore](/user/profile/taylore) I know that when I was going through depression and social anxiety that online gaming, specifically FFXI, was what kept me going. Being able to interact with people without having to go outside saved me at my lowest point.

I always think about this article [https://www.outsideonline.com/2403017/video-games-outdoors-addiction-rehab](https://www.outsideonline.com/2403017/video-games-outdoors-addiction-rehab) There are studies that say gaming can offer the same feeling of exploration as adventuring the great outdoors! I think that is so cool especially during lock-down. Of course the addictive aspect is something to be weary of..

[@LKovach](/user/profile/LKovach) [@taylore](/user/profile/taylore) Always default to Skyrim when I’m too depressed. I played this game when I was in my 20s than became an Alchoholic from traumas and deaths around me. I am 30 now and it is the best investment I have ever made for my mental health. Glad this exists for us. I’m doing this round as purely a mage with maxed out conjuration and destruction. This game is so amazing I feel like I could play it in different ways my whole life and I used to speed run fallout.
