It always baffles me when we are told the world needs to reduce energy consumption. Energy is directly linked to prosperity. We need to figure out how to make more, not reduce global consumption. Sure efficiencies can help but to lift the world out of poverty we need to be producing a lot more.

This is very enlightening because in most cases of these countries, ignorance is at the root of the proposals to use less energy. So IMO it is important that mindsets are worked on to understand and accept that it takes more energy to achieve more things -on it lies development and growth.
