The reality is the average factory worker, miner (all nine of them left), etc. is never going to consider somebody who works at an Old Navy or McDonald's a fellow member of the working class. To the factory worker, they perceive the guy behind the counter at Chic-Fil-A or Chipotle the same way a doctor or a billionaire does - as a servant. Which is why solidarity is never coming. That's not even getting to the part where most 'new' jobs are going to be service and/or female-coded, which is going to cause a whole mess of other problems as far as solidarity or building a movement.
