People need jobs, good jobs. This uncertain employment situation contributed to the destruction of the black working/middle class and the same is happening to white working/middle class. Anything that brings jobs back to the US, even if it means higher prices, is a good thing.

It's a political message, not an economic one, and as such will have a significant positive impact on the US morale, much more than just economic. Your narrow view misses the entire point.
