If only this were true. I think the divergence between metrics in the US and elsewhere including quality of life and class mobility have been pronounced since Ronny Ray-gun, but structural factors still keep them shambling on.

I hope Krugman is right that the reign of voodoo economics is dead. I doubt it, however, as long as unfettered capitalism rules and its Republican political lackeys walk halls of Congress.
