Interesting deep dive into the politics of visibility, and I’m always here for a tiktok analysis. That being said, the general lens of “are you a friend of Ellen?” being an “identifier” of who is lesbian (even when written tongue-in-cheek) is a pretty generic neolib stance that, overall, puts this piece in sliiiiightly TERFy territory. “[The lesbian] refusal [of norms] consequently undermines the male dominance imposed by heteronormative patriarchy that in turn deals with this threat by making the lesbian invisible and absent.”
