People are believing Facebook (and other platforms) have some nefarious goal. Well, that goal is to make money by catering to users who all have some extremes, one or another. But these are not always even under human supervision. Algorithms, filters, databases, and AI censoring are heavily used. My guess is the goal is profit rather than sociopolitical manipulation. If more users and entities with $ are nutty, then nutty stuff comes up.
