Here's the TLDR of propublica's new story revealing how billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk avoid paying income taxes. One of the takeaways: Bezos paid zero income taxes in 2011 & took a $4k tax credit (he was worth $18 billion at the time)

Many of us already suspected this but now there's hard evidence. Let's hope something is done otherwise I'm sure certain groups will become even more radicalized. I could see this becoming a huge problem if the IRS doesn't reclaim all of the money they are owed. If they do decide to take action I have a feeling it's going to get botched somehow because our government can't do anything right anymore.

if you were sued for libel by one of the taxpayers (even if your data is accurate), how would you defend yourself without disclosing your sources to show the validity of your stolen data?

Unaddressed are the most important questions we should answer BEFORE changing our tax system: (1) Does the wealth of rich people mostly sit in a closet or do they use it to invest in enterprises that make things people want? (2) If the latter, are we sure government bureaucrats can give people what they want better than the wealthy? (3) How much private wealth is dedicated to charitable ends? (4) Are we sure government bureaucrats are better able to direct such efforts than are people like Bill Gates, Andrew Carnegie, and John D Rockefeller? (5) Is this movement really driven by concern for the public welfare or by greed of politicians?
