When I was in Japan in 2010 I had 1gig ethernet as I was in the centre of Tokyo. On return to the UK the fastest I could get on my street which is in the dead center of the city in the commercial district is 21megs. Now I am 200 meters from the exchange so I get the advertised speeds but it is like going back in time :(
