"Everyone in the field recognizes that organoids are getting more complex and realistic. Insoo Hyun, a bioethicist at Case Western Reserve University, recently noted in an online essay that over the next five years or so, researchers will likely try to create organoids with networks of functional blood vessels and a full complement of brain cell types; the organoids may also be designed to emulate particular brain regions, to process neural data inputs, and to produce electrical outputs."
