Connie Chan General Partner at A16z discusses Four Trends in Consumer Technology
A brief summary:
-People are now spending more time on their mobiles than watching TV
-Most are staying within apps and not spending much time on internet browsers
-Most stay on the same apps and do not download new apps
-This will result in the rise of “Super apps” such as Wee chat, Alipay and Uber that leverage distribution to provide more products and services
-Apps will have to work out how to better use their data to develop new products and services
-Everything will become commerce and transaction related
-Technology will integrate further with the real physical world with the rise of technologies such as facial recognition, augmented reality and “Earshare”.
