Tricky area all round. Facebook likes to come accross as the Town Hall for discourse and not an active participant. However they clearly allow targeting of users for adverts which makes this more of a grey area. Ultimately the US government would love be able to exert more control over Facebook along the lines of weechat/alipay and the question is will it be able to maintain its supposed neutrality over public discourse and respect users privacy.
