Thank you for sharing this piece! I was raised in poverty, and what it does psychologically to children is appalling. The U.S. needs to wake up to the idea of every child reaching their potential and how that alone would lift all boats.

I feel like poverty is either. Mindset or a temporary condition. We must recognize that some people simply are not able to produce at a level sufficient to live an acceptable lifestyle by our society's standards and that they will always be reliant on taxpayers in one way or another.
