Temporary price rises are happening in graphics cards, puppies and used cars. That doesn't mean they're not going back down.I remember the furore when petrol broke the £1/litre barrier because the pumps all needed to be modified for 3 digit prices. Edit, yes the prices did go down a bit at the start of lockdown - when no-one needed to go anywhere - but that wasn't a whole lot of use and Income Tax was a temporary tax introduced to pay for the Napoleonic Wars.
