Corporation taxes in the news again. Amazon appearing in the Guardian like a tax degenerate in the EU whilst Bezos states support for Bidens' Global 21% Corporation tax. It always begs the question of where is your "tax money" better off?

I am confused by the article. They certainly made money, so it seems that accounting tricks unique to Luxembourg account for the "loss". They did not have any profit and thus have no profits to pay taxes on. Am I missing something? Is the implication here that they should be paying taxes even if they don't make money? Or, the implication is that they hide their profits as losses so they don't have to pay taxes.?

I believe that Corporate tax is taxing success. Amazon provides goods and services the people freely chose, it makes no sense to steal part of their prize for doing that.Governments need to change laws to stop such practices being legal and giving unfair advantage. But other companies also need to look at what has made amazon so popular such as quick free delivery, great logistics and great after sales. If there is a credible alternative most people would choose it.
