There’s certainly a large portion of the younger population that have captured the flexibility of remote work and newfound emphasis on work/life balance the last year had brought. These are the same white-color, tech-enabled workers who didn’t particularly feel the impact of the COVID economy, at least not at the margin. But the grocery store workers? The bar tenders? The Starbucks baristas? The huge and growing population of young aspirants saddled with more student debt than most of us owe on our mortgages? Yeah, they’re not living the “YOLO” economy. They’re barely keeping afloat.
