"Only 32% of those who took out loans have entirely paid them off. more than half (52%) of older millennials with student debt say their loans weren’t worth it." They're playing with self-selection bias here. The "older millennials" who still have student loans are more likely to say it wasn't worth it, because the ones who paid them off already (and thus aren't part of the class asked) are more likely to have higher paying jobs. Also, when this comes up, as someone in the trades I sometimes wonder if maybe it's a grass is always greener situation. Like, I understand loans suck and maybe you hate your office and your career path. But I spent a good part of a day last week catching myself on fire, putting myself back out and trying to ignore the burns so I could actually make progress on the project I was on. In theory, someone with a bachelor's wouldn't have that as a normal part of their week.
