For two generations, Democrats have danced around the fact that our states-rights-based Constitution is obsolete due to its failure to keep up with urbanization, which has partially disenfranchised most Americans. So now we routinely get presidents most of us voted against, an unpopular minority party that still somehow controls half the Senate, and an antique Supreme Court that most of us despise. Oh, and all while the rural-state-based oil and gas industry leverages this unfairness to scuttle desperately needed climate action. It's now or never, stop enshrining the Constitution and demand a rewrite!
