Saying 'indigenous people' and then making generalizations is like doing the same with 'white people' or 'Black people ', it's overly broad and therefore inaccurate. Some indigenous people are dedicated stewards of the land, some are too busy trying to survive to worry about anything else, and some exploit their resources for greed, just like any other group.
