[@kokohtoo](/user/profile/kokohtoo) Tax the producer of plastic containers. Make Nestlé and Coca-Cola pay for plastic! This shouldn't be a "socialize costs, privatize profits" situation. They want to sell their product in plastic so they should have a legal requirement to collect and recycle the waste at their expense. The UK is pretty unique in its region anyway as far as this stuff, most countries run proper return/recycling/refilling schemes and big manufacturers are simply required to take part. Your soft drink comes in a heavy refilled bottle in many countries for example. They screech and moan but they'll do what is necessary to profit, all that is required is that we ignore their lobbyists.
