If we don't put ourselves on the equivalent of a war footing in battling Climate Change, our civilization won't survive. War is never fun. War is never easy, even for non-combatants. But we are all combatants in this battle to some extent. And we will all suffer the consequences for failure.
Also it means literal war, because thats what it would require to force the worst polluters and environmental vandals to cease their operations. Not just internationally but civilly as well.
And should that fail, and the biosphere begins its cascading collapse, war will also occur as mass migration and resource competition destabilizes nations and entire regions of the globe.
