For this month's episode of The Uncanny Valley, Flash Art has sought to establish how the market for NFT Art and the blockchain more broadly might serve to cultivate a less destructive ecosystem. Alex Estorick and Beth Jochim invited a group of specialist artists, activists and theorists to propose their visions for crypto art's future. The text is spearheaded by Memo Akten, whose recent research into the ecological cost of crypto art has activated a whole new politics of art on the blockchain. The result is a hybrid manifesto whose internal conflicts reflect the present struggle towards a new ecology of crypto art.
