Lots of talk abound about the impact of Bitcoin mining on our energy systems. Some of it negative (using up scarce energy, fossil fuels etc) and some positive (Using stranded energy, facilitating green energy development, grids being able to plan better/have better energy reserves). We're at the beginnings of this synergy playing out so I think it's fair to say there is no right answer yet. Personally I'm optimistic on its impact and yes we will see these hybrid energy/mining organisations develop; because ultimately they will make more money.
