The initiative to stop patent lockup’s is great thing. Making sure future companies pricing blockchain tech won’t be hinder by any patents. I remember vitalik buerten discussing this topic as well a few months back. He was basically saying these crypto companies locking up all these patents goes against the idea of cryptocurrency.

I think the internet warrants a…native currency… Bitcoin is probably the best manifestation of that thus far. I can’t see that changing given all the people who want the same thing and build it for that potential.
