This article opened my eyes to a real-world application of blockchain in the music industry. It explores how the tokenization of SoundCloud could not only save the platform but also be a massive opportunity for the founders and all of the community members. I am myself a music producer and DJ, so being exposed to this idea opened my mind to the possibilities of blockchain across many other industries. It also shows how artists such as myself have great potential to finally leverage our craft at a much higher value within an economy which currently doesn't give much financial importance to most art and music. Although the article is a couple years old, I think the idea is still potentially totally revolutionary and a platform like SoundCloud which is more of a niche listening platform could see significant growth and a much stronger community by tokenizing the platform. I think it would be amazing to see established organizations like this make the shift. It would set the foundation for many others to do the same.
