“Mr. Griffith allegedly traveled to North Korea without permission from the federal government, and with knowledge what he was doing was against the law. We cannot allow anyone to evade sanctions, because the consequences of North Korea obtaining funding, technology, and information to further its desire to build nuclear weapons put the world at risk. It’s even more egregious that a U.S. citizen allegedly chose to aid our adversary.” FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge William F. Sweeney Jr.

I like that you shared this here , but I read this one after a complete year. (Sorry I have joined now). Well, I have different opinion may be you guys do agree or not. But I will love to read your thoughts. I think he should have taken lessons from the pirate community. If you're going to write tools that are useful for breaking the law don't *say* that that's what the tools are intended to be used for. Just make the tools.

[@chris](/user/profile/chris) -remus although it is too old article but it should be considered till now. This incident is a great example of the following two statements: 1. Authoritarian governments (North Korea, China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, etc.) are not interested in a real adoption of privacy-oriented decentralized money inside their borders, but they simply want to use cryptos to disrupt US dollar's domination and evade US sanctions. 2. US government is not interested in a real adoption of cryptocurrencies either, because it controls global financial system, which depends on US dollar, petrodollar, and SWIFT.
