The phrase "a few bad apples" was meant to be taken seriously. One bad apple spoils the whole barrel. That's where the term come "bad apple" comes from. They emit a gas that spreads throughout the bunch ruining the entire barrel. You're suppose to get rid of 'a few bad apples' as soon as you are able to.

Basically they only want kids to learn history in a framing that puts the white people on the right side of every issue. Like the Trail of Tears being a simple “relocation” to make room for the colonists. They don’t want anyone to know the truth and want to whitewash everything. was 7 years old in my own country of Nigeria, going to an international school when I experienced my first bit of racism (from an American white kid). If a 7 year old prick can learn racist acts from the people in his life, he can learn the truth about his dark history.

Critical race theory is an examination at how American social and legal systems upholds white supremacy. So republicans trying to ban it in schools would basically mean students wouldn’t be able to learn about slavery, civil rights, or redlining since those are part of CRT. We don’t agree a lot of things and this is one agree with. I believe any black history will make whites feel anguish, guilt, and discomfort. This is how they will suppress regular teachings of black history.
