The Frenzy over CRT "The single greatest threat to the GOP is its newfound electoral weakness in the suburbs; in order to regain strength in those areas... [GOP] must convince suburban voters that the other side represents an unthinkable Marxist menace.

The CRT panic is also aided by all the lazy reporting in mainstream outlets that frames the conflict as actually between conservatives and the field of Critical Race Theory, instead of between conservatives and a fictive boogeyman that they named after an existing field of critical studies called 'Critical Race Theory.' This piece was better than most, and made it more clear that corporate and educational sensitivity trainings or groups in which individuals are asked to examine their privileges are not "Critical Race Theory."

Obscure unemployed documentarian emerges from lockdown and calls a better known documentarian and advocate "obscure" while wondersling when race became a hot button issue in America. Ultimately, I think David summed it up best: ā€œIf you had to nail down a big difference between Chris and I, itā€™s...ā€I want to hear the ideas of Critical Race Theory. I want to hear ā€˜emā€ Thatā€™s great for someone like David French, but maybe not for young, influential minds

"Rufo... describes the theory as the notion that the United States was 'founded on white supremacy and oppression.'" Rufo's is a reasonable (if necessarily simplified) description of CRT. Do you disagree with it?

I'm more talking about outlets like the NYT and WaPo, who write articles as though there is an actual debate between proponents of and opponents to Critical Race Theory in places like public schools. When really there's a debate between administration and educators creating history syllabi that place more emphasis on the history of American slavery, and idiots who call that "Critical Race Theory."
