Excellent article. Seems like a) although they changed their name, they are still just a bunch of vigilantes and b) they've turned a whole lot of people into that one nosey neighbor we all grew up with on our block. Someone is going to get hurt...then what? When I checked out NextDoor it was people alerting their neighbours about un-housed individuals who were collecting discarded recyclables that had been put out to the curb. Literally calling for people to stop a vulnerable population from taking their trash away for them.

I feel like Nextdoor isn't too far off from this either. It's the same formula time and time again. A post is made about a crime or suspicious activity. Quickly a plant for Ring or security patrol companies jump in to sell their service as some miracle solution. People (especially elderly) reply how expensive it is but they have no choice seeing all the crime posts lately. It then devolves further into gun-nut fantasy, doomsday-isms, and political drama.
